Nameless unplaced guilt
expected a secret welcome.

All faces were the same - 
made for money,
always on the move,
like a ghost sprung upright in his coffin.

The English words and the Polish words
coming at each other:
the conversation embarrassed her
in the way sex had her mother.

The Hard Lesson from Life degrees
are cursed with believing.
It takes guts to listen.
